Today is the day I announce the lucky winners of my Giveaway!

Two Winners for one copy each of the Antiques Weekend Show Daily!
29 entries - Thanks so much to everyone who entered!

I decided to enlist the help of my DD Julia and she most kindly obliged...

We used a beautiful vintage vinyl-clad ~  Mad Man ~ brown faux alligator &

gold ice bucket by the iconic Georges Briard ...

Julia shook it up really well!

Ooh, the suspense is killing me!

Here's one ...
And two! Oh, I'm so excited, I could just spit!

And the lucky winners are ...

Hourglass Suzie & 4 Bushel Farmgal!

Ladies, please send me your addresses so I can get your prizes into the mail before I leave on my Road Trip on Wednesday, okay?  Just use the "contact me" button at the top right of my blog.

Once again, thanks to everyone who Followed me and/or left a comment on my Warrenton blog entry!

This was so much fun for me, I'm going to have to make up some kind of event so that I can have another Giveaway!

This next time the prize is  going to be a copy of the quintessential
Bible of the antique business,

"How To Be Successful In The Antique Business"
by Ronald S. Barlow

First published in 1980 and revised in 1985,
this book is still relevant in many ways for today's
online seller, antique mall booth seller and/or
a brick & mortar Antique Store owner!

Peace, Love, & MARJOR Milestones...

Peace...

Love...
 And Guess What?

Oh, very well, I'll tell you!

Today is my 62nd birthday... and... I've retired!  How great is that?

Well, retired from the regular "workin' for the man" workforce...

because I'll never stop working... I'm just not made that way!

But now, my work is also my play!

Oh, I'm a lucky girl!  Yes!

And guess what again?

Oh, very well, I'll tell you... again!

This Wednesday, the 17th, HH Noel and I will celebrate our 25th Anniversary!

And how great is that?  Pretty great, I'm thinking!

And to celebrate, guess what I'm going to do?

Oh, very well, I'll tell you!  (Since I know you'll never guess this one.)

I'm going on a thrifting Road Trip with my youngest sister to go visit my oldest brother in Nebraska!

Now, how great is that?  I mean... really!

Noel is staying home to take care of our 5 cats, 2 dogs, and 10 chickens...

He really rocks!

Because he knows what makes me happy!

And... besides that, we are going to Round Rock on Tuesday to eat at Chola, our favorite Indian restaurant!

(And I'll bet you thought I misspelled MAJOR didn't you?)

(Smirk)

Well, these beautiful limey green, salmon colored, goldenroddy,
satin-covered, Paisley-patterned

Glove, Hosiery, & Hankie storage boxes from the 1960s were owned by none other than...

MARJ... (I wonder who she was?)

Here they are again in all their Flower-Power glory!

Peace Out!

Don't forget! Today is the drawing for my Giveaway!

POP! Autumnal Glory Redux! Thanks Lorraine!

Well, we've had a few changes since I first showed you the
Fall Four Season Bathroom Redo here.

A lot of the change is thanks to Lorraine who writes the very informative and entertaining blog called
We are: clamco. The story of how she came up with the name is related on her blog, you should go check it out!

Anyway, she read about my shower curtain dilemma and suggested that I might like the Eddie Bauer curtain she had listed on eBay...well, I hustled right over and as you can see below...it's PERFECT!

Lorraine & Eddie Bauer, you have my undying gratitude!

The colors and the pattern perfectly accent my little shelf that DH Noel made for me from painted iron shelf brackets that we picked up at Warrenton several years ago and left-over Corian pieces from a long-ago job he went on.

Pear and apple decals adorn a  green wood box which is a double sided recipe box signed F. D. B. - 1971 - this is a find from years past at a sale in Fayetteville, TX in the old SPJST Hall...
sadly, no shows there anymore...

And just in case you're wondering...SPJST stands for:

Slovanska Podporujici Jednota Statu Texas
which is Czech for:
Slavonic Benevolent Order of the State of Texas

(Information courtesy of an article by Melissa Segrest & Will Holford
on page 22 in the October 12 issue of the
Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative Edition of
Texas Co-op Power)

I'm just so HAPPY with this shower curtain!

It just brightens up and pulls the whole bathroom look together!

I have a new tschotske...can you spot it?  Oh, very well, I'll just tell you what it is!  At the back of the shelf with the small flower note holder on top is a four-sided Seasons name board!  It is really too cute and I got it in Giddings, TX at the Rejuvenation Thrift Shop for half-price...fifty cents!  All righty then!

Now you have a good view of the fluorescent lamp Noel spotted at Warrenton maybe 5 years ago.  It's newer than the original one to the right, which I do not have a photo of...maybe later.

For those of you who are new readers, the bathroom went from this...

 To this!

I am seriously stoked!

PS - Don't forget about my giveaway!  Read about it here!

Antiques Weekend at Warrenton, TX AND a Giveaway!

This is the last weekend of the Warrenton - Round Top and all other points around and between - of the Antiques Weekend Extravaganza!

And only the second time HH Noel and I have been out there this time...let me tell you...it's been HOT!

Anyhoo...we started the day by parking at The Little House on the Hill which is where I used to have a space probably 8 years ago.  I always start out by thinking that I'd really like to do the show again...it usually takes maybe 45 minutes before I'm thinkin' ~ what was I thinkin'!?!

Anyhoo... we then instantly made our way to The Legal Tender Saloon
 for lunch...

whereupon we ordered ONE  (because they are so huge) Chicken Salad Sandwich on wheat.  Sorry, no picture because the sandwich was instantly consumed by us.  Along with Fritos, dill pickles and onions. Yum!

As you can see, they have a pretty extensive menu for the sort of wing-ding that Warrenton has become.  I'm happy to report that the owners have opened up a full time restaurant right outside of La Grange where hopefully I'll have a chance to eat something other than chicken or egg salad since that's all I ever eat there.

Anyhoo, it was delicious! Yum again!

A view from the back porch of The Legal Tender...

And another...

If you've never experienced an Antiques Weekend here in Central Texas, you might seriously want to put this twice yearly event on your bucket list...it's multiple towns and miles of good, and I mean, really good stuff! Plus some really really I don't know what, stuff...
Now, check out what I've got next for you!
 Metal!
A concrete cement Rooster and Hen...I almost pulled the trigger on this one...$30.00!
  I may regret this pass!
  Gorgeous!
Junk jewelry...get 'er by the scoop-full!

Royal Copley...maybe fifty bucks for all of them...so cute!  But, I resisted!
Hull Little Red Riding Hood, the rare one because of the lacy floral border, so the proprietor of this shop said...Only $295.00, BUT he'll let me have it for only $150.00...nope! Doesn't match my pocketbook or decor!

The next pictures are from one of my favorite places!
Yes, that's right!  Dead People's Stuff!

Which a lot of it really is...I mean, right?

 I am a sucker for succulents...just sayin'...

 And conch shells...and succulents...

 And deer skulls...and succulents...

Dead People's Stuff...yeah!

Oh!  And remember what I said about a Giveaway?

And about putting the Warrenton-Round Top Antique Weekend on your bucket list?

Well, this Giveaway is going to have not one, but two winners because I acquired two copies of the October 2012 Show Daily!
137 pages of everything there is to know, see, do, eat, stay....maps on where to go to have a blast here in Fayette County, Texas during the Antiques Weekend which is really 3 weekends of trash and treasure!

All you have to do is leave me a comment for one entry
and Follow Me to receive another.

The drawing will be held on October 15th

(which is my 62nd birthday!  Happy Birthday to me!)

This Giveaway is open to my present and future followers and I will ship Internationally should I have an International winner!

Well, thanks for getting this far and... let the Games begin!
