Autumn Arrives in the Four Seasons Bathroom

Here it is!  Autumnal Glory!  Fall is here at last!

The  Dhuri Indian  rugs are what gives us the color scheme
for this time of year.

The blue fishes in the Summertime bathroom here, have been replaced by this trio of pretty brass fishes that I found  in a Houston thrift store at half-price, so that would be ten dollars...

We love our Gary Larsen in the Library!

A pivotal point in our decorating is the change-out of the picture over the "throne".  This is a print by an artist named Carl L. Blonner.  He was popular at the same time as Charles Dana Gibson, who painted the Gibson Girls.  I can't find out much about him, but I'll keep looking.  I like his style and I found this at Canton for five bucks a few years ago.

Need. More. Towels.

This little plaque is an antique postcard reproduced on a thin piece of wood.  It was made by my friends Troy and Rob of Rue Chic out of Dallas.
They used to show at Warrenton during the Antique Weekends, but not for the past few years.

I wonder where they are now?

Now... I need your advice.

 You see, I don't like the shower curtain I chose...too brown...too dark...

Just. don't. like. it.

Would you please just pop on over and take a look at these three shower curtains and leave me a comment on which you think would best work for my Autumn bathroom?

I'd be ever so grateful!

Oh, and guess where I'm going today?

It's Antique Weekend at Warrenton time!  YEA!

  1. I'd go gold, either a stripe or a damask. Then you can dress it up with Christmas stuff and not have to buy a different one.

Maybe a damask. Something traditional and neutral to let all the other cute decor really shine.

    1. Well, I already have a Christmas red and white stripe...but stripes I think I like..gold sounds like it would be good too.
      Thanks for helping me out!

  2. Crystal,
I guess I'd pick the stripe out of all of them. I actually had a shower curtain listed with a lot of the colors that are in your towel stack. I ended it because I got sick of looking at the listing, but I just put it up again in case you might be interested.

    3. Okay, I went and placed my bid on it! I think I'll like it...the flowers are just Impressionist water-colorey enough not to look like real flowers...I like things to be in the abstract... Thanks for the heads-up! 8-)

    2. I'm leaning towards the Eddie Bauer now, Mom. It would go with the bungalow look of the house. It's got enough light to make Dad happy.

  5. Hi Crystal, love your Autumn bathroom, it was this time of year that I stayed with my aunt and uncle in America and I loved it! 1. Thanks Linda! What part of the US do your aunt and uncle live? If you don't mind me asking? The Fall is my most favorite time of year! And I checked the shower curtain out...it's nice but I'm thinking that I'm going to go with the Eddie Bauer curtain that Lorraine at Clamco has...so then I'll only have 5 shower curtains to choose from! 8-)
Also DD Julia bought us a mossy green throne cover for Fall and a purple one to go with the Spring decor'....to be revealed next February or March!
Thanks for helping me out though!

  6. I love the brass fish! They remind me of something similar that my parents bought in Japan roughly 50 years ago. Enjoy them! :)
PS- Thanks for the heads up on the glass!

  7. Hey Wendy! Thanks for dropping by! You are very welcome for the glass info. I like to help out when I can! 8-) I believe the fish are Indian...but yes, they do have a kind of calming Japanese Zen that helps the ambiance of a functional bathroom! And thanks for the 'follow', you've got one entry into my Giveaway!
